OFFERING
Out beyond the fence-line of doubt and disappointment is a forest teeming with miracles. Meet me there.

I offer 60 minute, full-day, and multi-day somatic self-inquiry sessions for individuals and couples who are ready to become steward-magicians of their inner and outer worlds. My mission isn't to help you slay your dragons, it's to help you unlock an ancient secret: they have been waiting to play all along.

Each engagement begins with the challenges, curiosities, and sacred questions that lie at the center of your life. Using these as our starting point, we will co-craft a series of sessions designed to help you know your edges, meet your shadow, and sustain your boundaries. Fierce courage, playfulness, and unexpected new capacity are a few of the gifts waiting on the other side. Sessions can incorporate elements of conversation, play, dramatization, nature connection, physical movement, ritual/ceremony, and somatic trauma work.
This is your invitation: step through the portal of somatic intuition. Forget your ready answers. Recapture your golden thread.

WHY NOT
Somatic self-inquiry isn't for everyone. Here are a few reasons why:

It demands a high bar of self-awareness

This work assumes an existing foundation of somatic awareness, emotional fluency, and self-responsibility.

It won't boost your material wealth

Somatic self-inquiry isn't designed to accelerate your career or help you achieve financial wealth.

It may disrupt your life

This work may challenge your values, beliefs, habits, and relationships. If you want to keep these things the way they are, it's likely not for you.

It won't heal you

Although this work is trauma-informed, it does not seek to "heal" emotional wounding. Instead, it evokes the gifts these wounds contain.

It's uncomfortable
Somatic self-inquiry can bring you face-to-face with darkness, fear, shame, disgust, and shadow.

It's a substantial investment

Fully participating in the journey of somatic self-inquiry demands a significant investment of time, energy, and inner resources.

It's risky

Somatic self-inquiry requires courage, humor, self-warmth, and deep trust in the co-creative process. It is not "safe" by most traditional definitions, and is not intended for those who are struggling with acute mental health issues or are in an otherwise vulnerable state.

ABOUT
My name is Carlin Gettliffe. I was born in Boulder, Colorado in 1986. At ten years old, partly out of curiosity and partly out of bravado, I stared at the sun for several minutes. I came away with a life-long blind spot in my right eye.
I've been both a seeker and a finder. I know what it is to be plugged in to the beating heart of one's own life, and also what it is to be stuck in the fog of doubt and self-recrimination. I'm fascinated by life as sacred play, an endless process of embrace and release in which we each have the opportunity to welcome ourselves home again and again.

I'm intensely curious about the myriad ways of being human, and have had the chance to do many different things. I studied physics, religion and entrepreneurship at university. Since then I've been a startup founder, bartender, science fiction writer, hitchhiking vagabond, and art/music festival organizer. My formal training includes relational somatic trauma therapy, Rolfing Structural Integration, and a nine-month nature instructor training at the Wilderness Awareness School.

I love to cook, especially ramen, shakshuka, and buckwheat crust pies.

PRAISE
Carlin's strong intuition guided him to the edges that resided within me that were too much to access alone. Having these edges fully witnessed/respected and loved helped the parts of myself that I had exiled feel seen and heard and valued for their protective roles. I would recommend his work to those who are ready for true transformation and all the grit and beauty that comes with it.

Carlin is one of the most attuned humans I've met. All of him listens, and it becomes extremely important in sessions as his attunement picks up what is needed in the field for what happens next. My last session with him was vulnerable, sad, exciting, scary, and perfect. It gave me insight to ponder for days to come.
