OFFERING

Out beyond the fence-line of doubt and disappointment is a forest teeming with miracles.

I offer 75 minute nature-based somatic parts-work sessions and half-day deep dives for individuals and couples who are ready to become steward-magicians of their inner and outer worlds. My mission isn't to help you slay your dragons, it's to help you unlock an ancient secret: they have been waiting to play all along.

Each engagement begins with the challenges, curiosities, and questions that lie at the center of your life. With these as our starting point, we will co-craft a series of sessions designed to help you meet your edge, integrate your shadow, and sustain your boundaries. Fierce courage, playfulness, and unexpected new capacity are a few of the gifts waiting on the other side. Sessions may incorporate elements of play, parts-work, conversation, dramatization, nature connection, physical movement, and ritual.

This is your invitation: step through the portal of somatic intuition. Forget your ready answers. Recapture your golden thread.

Why Not

WHY NOT

My work isn't for everyone. Here are a few reasons why:

It demands a high bar of self-awareness

My sessions assume an existing foundation of somatic awareness, emotional fluency, and self-responsibility.

It won't boost your material wealth

My work isn't designed to accelerate your career or help you achieve financial wealth.

It may disrupt your life

Working with me may challenge your existing values, beliefs, habits, and relationships.

It won't heal you

Although my work is trauma-informed, it does not seek to "heal" emotional wounding. Instead, it evokes the gifts these wounds contain.

It's uncomfortable

You may come face-to-face with darkness, fear, shame, disgust, and shadow.

It's a substantial investment

Participating in a journey of this depth demands a significant investment of time, energy, and inner resources.

It's risky

Our sessions together will require courage, humor, self-warmth, and deep trust in the co-creative process. My work is not "safe" by most traditional definitions, and is not intended for those who are struggling with acute mental health issues or are in an otherwise vulnerable state.

WHY

Sometimes the right path appears at the right time. For those who are ready, my work offers an opportunity for profound reconnection with self and the world. In a culture replete with forces of alienation, one of the most radical and meaningful things we can do is slow down, listen, and take the time to ask who, after all, we really are.

about

ABOUT

My name is Carlin Gettliffe. I was born in Boulder, Colorado in 1986. I'm intensely curious about the myriad ways of being human, and have walked many paths.

I studied physics and religion at university. Since then I've been a physics researcher, startup founder, art/music festival organizer, bartender, hitchhiking vagabond, wilderness skills instructor, rite of passage guide, somatic parts-work practitioner, and kink/BDSM educator. I design and lead Shadowcraft, a rite of passage intensive that is the convergence and culmination of much of my work. I am also a co-founder of the School of Wild Belonging in Boulder, CO.

I've spent time as both a seeker and a finder. I know what it is to be rooted in the beating heart of one's own life, and also what it is to be stuck in the fog of doubt and self-recrimination. I'm fascinated by life as sacred play, an endless process of embrace and release in which we each have the opportunity to welcome ourselves home again and again.

My formal training includes relational somatic trauma therapy, Rolfing Structural Integration, and a nine-month nature instructor training at the Wilderness Awareness School.

I love to cook, especially ramen (from scratch), shakshuka, and buckwheat crust pies.

PRAISE

Carlin is one of the most attuned humans I've met. All of him listens, and it becomes extremely important in sessions as his attunement picks up what is needed in the field for what happens next. My last session with him was vulnerable, sad, exciting, scary, and perfect. It gave me insight to ponder for days to come.

Carlin's strong intuition guided him to the edges that resided within me that were too much to access alone. Having these edges fully witnessed/respected and loved helped the parts of myself that I had exiled feel seen and heard and valued for their protective roles. I would recommend his work to those who are ready for true transformation and all the grit and beauty that comes with it.

GRATITUDE

These are a few of the people, groups, workshops, and trainings that have influenced my work. I owe them a deep debt of gratitude.
